MSWD is committed to protecting your water resources and preparing for the future. To aid in this, MSWD's Public Affairs department works with local, state, and federal officials to introduce new legislation and to monitor current or pending policy initiatives that may impact our water or wastewater programs. These efforts have brought in millions of grant dollars to the District and have helped shape the costly regulatory compliance landscape the District works under.
The District's Legislative Platform outlines the priorities MSWD has established for the current legislative term. Throughout the year, the Board may also take additional steps to direct staff to oppose or support policy initiatives as they arise.
