Due to Governor Newsom’ Executive Order N-34-20, the transition to by-division elections/districting has been suspended until further notice. Thank you for your understanding.

In March 2019, the Board of Directors passed a Resolution of Intention to Convert to By-Division elections. Based on the timeline identified in Elections Code Section 10010, MSWD has begun the process to transition to By-Division elections, including holding four public hearings.

The first two hearings are for the purpose of developing the criteria that will be used for drawing the maps. These Public Hearings must be held within 30 days of each other, per AB 350.

After the public provides input at Public Hearing No. I and No. 2, the map drawing process will commence. After the District has created at least one draft map, including potential election sequencing, the District shall make the map(s) available for release for public review at least seven days before Public Hearing No. 3.
